Rep. Keith Ellison Visits the Liberian Consulate

Representative Keith M. Ellison, Minnesota Fifth Congressional District and Deputy Chair of the Democratic National Committee paid a courtesy visit at the Liberian Consulate in Minnesota. Hon. George welcomed Rep. Ellison to the Liberian Consulate and gave him a tour of the Consulate highlighting Liberia’s interest in getting trade and investment missions to Liberia.

Hon. George informed Rep. Ellison that Liberia is open for business and put forth the need of having direct flights from Minneapolis to Liberia when the new airport is completed.

Rep. Ellison who have visited Liberia and a champion of Liberian causes, expressed optimism that the Liberian Consulate in Minnesota is a blessing to both Liberia and Minnesota. He promised to link the Consulate with the right institutions to ensure Liberia benefits from the many contributions Liberians are making to the economic development of Minnesota.

Rep. Ellison District encompasses the city of Minneapolis as well as surrounding suburbs including St. Louis Park, Richfield, Golden Valley, Columbia Heights, New Hope, Crystal, Robbinsdale, Fridley, St. Anthony, Spring Lake Park, Hilltop, Fort Snelling, Hopkins, Brooklyn Center, and portions of Edina. It is known as the most vibrant and ethnically diverse District in Minnesota. He was elected to Congress in 2006.
