Hon. George addressed the LAMCO Family Reunion held in Loudoun County, Virginia. The theme “Iron Ore, Investment and a Community to Social Impact – Unlocking what made the LAMCO Experience Possible”.
Hon. George urged Liberians in the diaspora to put aside their differences and work hard for Liberia’s development. Hon George stressed the fact that Liberians in the diaspora must do their part as government cannot do it all.
In 1953, a joint venture was formed by Liberia, Sweden and the United States called LAMCO. LAMCO was formed for the purpose of mining iron ore in Yekepa, Nimba County and shipping iron pallets from Buchanan, Grand Bassa County.
Thanks to Kanda George and the organizing Committee for the invite. It was an enjoyable occasion.
